How many days is BUAMUN?

BUAMUN is a two-day conference starting Saturday morning and ending on Sunday afternoon. Since the conference is held over multiple days, delegates will be able to reach resolutions on issues and conflicts without any time constraints.

What sort of adult supervision will BUAMUN provide?

BUAMUN staff will not provide direct adult supervision. Each delegation will be required to attend with its advisor, who will be the responsible adult for the delegation. We will ask all attending students to submit a signed release form, complete with emergency information--advisors should also have a copy of this information.

Students will be in committee rooms with BUAMUN staff (high school students at BU Academy), and advisors may observe committee proceedings at any time. Conference admin staff will make sure that no delegates leave the premises without an advisor present.

Will BUAMUN provide lunch for delegates and advisors?

If enough interest is expressed in this option, organizers may order pizza or a catered lunch at a discounted price for delegates. Otherwise, BUAMUN staff and organizers will be happy to recommend eating establishments on campus.

What kind of Model UN experience do BUAMUN staff have?

All BUAMUN staff are members of the Boston University Academy Model UN delegation. The club hosts regular simulations for its members, and members travel to at least 2 collegiate Model UN conferences yearly. All conference staff have received extensive training in hosting a Model UN conference, and many have organized or staffed similar events in the past.
