DISEC deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime.
It considers all disarmament and international security matters within the scope of the Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any other organ of the United Nations; the general principles of cooperation in the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as principles governing disarmament and the regulation of armaments; promotion of cooperative arrangements and measures aimed at strengthening stability through lower levels of armaments. |

Meet the Dais
Giovi Hersch is a senior at Boston University Academy and this will be her second year of direct involvement with BUAMUN. She was a staffer for the 2019 BUAMUN, was part of the 2019 BOSMUN UNHRC committee, and vice chaired the 2020 BUAMUN GA committee. Outside of MUN, she participates in the science Olympiad team, the photography club, and is an avid fencer and tennis player. She dedicates her free time to playing the violin, reading books, and playing with her bunny.

Anne Jackson is a junior at Boston University Academy, and this will be her third year involved with BUAMUN. In her freshman year, she was an admin staffer, and last year she was the Vice Chair for DISEC. Outside of MUN, she is on BUA's basketball and cross country teams. In her free time, she enjoys reading, knitting, and playing viola.
