DISEC deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime.
It considers all disarmament and international security matters within the scope of the Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any other organ of the United Nations; the general principles of cooperation in the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as principles governing disarmament and the regulation of armaments; promotion of cooperative arrangements and measures aimed at strengthening stability through lower levels of armaments (source). |

Arjun is a senior at BUA from Arlington. He is very proud of how far he's come since freshman year. Aside from Model UN, he enjoys "playing" basketball, rowing crew, and using the saxophone in his free time. This will be his fourth BUAMUN. Last year, he was the chair of HJCC USSR. Prior to that, he has been a vice-chair and a staffer. He is excited to chair DISEC for BUAMUN VI, and to meet all his wonderful delegates! |
Brooke is a junior at Boston University Academy and this is her first year of involvement with BUAMUN. She is eager to begin her MUN career and gain more experience. At BU Academy she is on the soccer team and is an active member of the Women's Empowerment Group and Art Club. In her free time she enjoys running, boxing, and yoga. |
