World Health Organization
The World Health Organization is an organ of the United Nations dedicated to tackling some of the world's most pervasive public health issues. It assists local governments in delivering essential health needs to their populations, it leads in research and regulations, and it coordinates cooperation between governments, the scientific community, and Non-Governmental Organizations. It played an indispensable role in the 1980 eradication of smallpox, and it continues to fight in public health emergencies as they arise. It also promotes proper nutrition, food security, and anti-drug awareness. Delegates will be members of the World Health Assembly, which is WHO's governing body, and will have the opportunity to debate some of the world's most critical health issues.
